After looking at power rankings and going into the LHSAA website, I have noticed that there are numerous teams in girls' basketball who have not put in scores in LHSAA website. It is a game here or there. This should effect the power rankings and brackets for the playoffs. Does anyone know what LHSAA will do about this? Do they contact the teams to tell them to input their information? Personally, I believe teams should be fined for this, and it should be a big enough fine to where it motivates teams to input their scores.

I can't speak for Basketball because this is my first season, but there were a few scores entered late in Soccer and the LHSAA published their initial results without them. I do know that at least one of them were reported shortly after the LHSAA results were published and reflected in a later version of the LHSAA results.
It is actually written in the by-laws that results are to be published by Midnight of the date played or results in a fine...can't remember the fine, but it was small....and I have no way to know if it is enforced or not.

Alright....in 5-4A, Cecilla hasn't put either of their games in this week, and there are other teams from that district that haven't put games in. I do see where some teams are starting to back track and put games in. Just kind of messes things up when teams don't meet requirements of putting games in. You want the truest bracket possible.

Ok, here's some numbers for you. Now its final PR release day and there are 40 games on the season with no results. There are 10 District games with no results!!
Now I am sure that a vast majority of the non-district games might not have been played, but that's no excuse. Cancelled should have been entered.

Too me that is crazy...I think teams should have heavy fines for not entering scores. If LHSAA would make it hurt, then schools would enter scores. When will LHSAA release the power rankings today?

The winning team is required to post the scores by midnight of the day the game is played. It used to be the home team that was required to post scores. This has been changed this year. Secondly, the fine is $50. However, my wife is a coach and I assist her and I assure you that we have forgotten or been caught up helping in other areas of the gym and completely forgotten to enter scores until the following morning and we were never fined.

It is understandable to miss the midnight deadline, but think by the end of the season teams should have scores in.

It seems like from the past few updates you posted on power rankings things are settling down with movement and the rankings are beginning to stabilize.

I am not sure what time they will be released, this is my first year doing Basketball. I would think around Noon. The official brackets don't get released until tomorrow.

Of course they could be waiting on results to get entered too! Still 2 district games from the 9th with no results.....

Of course they could be waiting on results to get entered too! Still 2 district games from the 9th with no results..... Epps and Kilbourne is one of those games. Epps will fall to 15 with a win, down from 8.89 to 8.854. However, Epps beat both Forest and Oak Grove earlier in the season. Forest and Oak Grove were in a tournament together on 11/26 and no score was posted. No matter who won that contest, Epps will receive one point moving them from 8.854 to 8.8944, which is enough for them to move back up to 14.

Yea...maybe they were planning on publishing the power rankings at 9:00 in the morning and I think the dispute time is from 9:00 to 11:00. They usually post the brackets between 12:00 and 2:00. I still think they should punish the schools that don't publish their results a little harsher.

At that time principals have until 11am to dispute record and/or power ranking. The final bracket will be posted at 12pm and once it's posted it is final. I am curious about whether or not there are schools that are intentionally neglecting to post scores because they know it will negative affect their average.
