First LSCA Softball Coaches Top Ten Polls

The Louisiana Softball Coaches Association and LouisianaPreps.com are proud to announce that both organizations have forged an agreement to carry the LSCA Softball Coaches Top 10 Poll presented by LouisianaPreps.com.

With just a few weeks remaining in the 2018 season, a panel of LHSAA head coaches from each class around the state has come together to determine the first softball poll conducted.

When we had the chance to work with the LSCA to provide a softball coaches poll, we were excited for what was in store,” said LouisianaPreps.com owner Hunter Bower. “Coaches rarely get to voice their opinions of who are the best teams in the state. We are giving them the opportunity to be heard and to create excitement for programs in each region of Louisiana.”

The LSCA and LouisianaPreps.com will take information and feedback from coaches this season and analyze the polls for next season.

“We wanted to test the polls out this season and work out all bugs” said Bower. “Coaches are excited and are willing to work with us to provide more publicity for the sport of softball. We want to make sure that we get it right this season and provide more excitement for seasons to come.”

The panel will vote once more before the end of the regular season on April 11.

HOW THE POLL WORKS

The LSCA Softball Coaches Poll Presented by LouisianaPreps.com is conducted bi-weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at LHSAA schools. The panel is chosen by random draw from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association their willingness to participate.

I'm curious to know when these rankings were voted on and put together. I'm familiar with Class 2A much more than the others and the 2A rankings look a little jacked up.

Yes i know. Just making conversation. For example, Doyle is ranked ahead of STA even though STA has beaten them twice. Seems not too many have caught onto this board yet. The other board is slow too but not this slow lol. Be interesting to see what happens with this board around August when football fever starts to kick up again. I'm expecting this board to eventually overtake the other board because this is where the Power Rankings are now. It should be gradual though because the other board has been around much longer.
