Eric LeBlanc, a native of Erath, has been annouced as the new head coach at Erath High School.
In 2008, he was one of the seven Erath High School valedictorians that year. After high school, he attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles. During his time at McNeese, he was part of the Cowboys’ football team. In 2013, he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance with a Concentration in Education.
From June 2013 to May 2014, he was the Football Defensive Graduate Assistant for the McNeese State Cowboys while earning a Master’s of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology. From August of 2014 to April of 2017, he attended McNeese State, Louisiana Tech, and Northwestern State to complete his certification in Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities K-12. This year is his fourth as a Special Education Teacher at Erath High School and he is in his second year as the Athletic Director. During the 2017-2018 year, he coached football (Special Teams Coordinator/D-Line Coach) and is currently serving as the Head Coach for Softball and assists (with throwers) in Track.
Eric married his high school and college sweetheart, Bliss Romero LeBlanc in 2015. The couple has one daughter, Millie Jane LeBlanc with another one on the way.
Eric’s parents are Jennie LeBlanc Mendoza, who is married to Al Mendoza and Randy LeBlanc, who is married to “Dino” Roy. He has one younger sister, Megan LeBlanc Bercier and a brother in law, Anthony Bercier.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar, woodworking, playing golf, duck hunting, cooking, having fun with his wife and daughter, and watching all sports and his favorite TV shows.
