Does anyone know why in Baseball the highest seed doesn't host in the final game before Sulphur? Correct me if i am wrong but isn't there a rule for football that says the semi final games will be highest seed at home regardless of the previous rounds? I noticed in 1A this year the top 3 seeds all have to travel in the quarterfinals. Considering baseball and softball are the only two sports where an advantage is given to the home team shouldn't the higher seed host?

I believe that if a lower seed upsets a high seed in the previous round then that lower seed will be the host team in the next round.... Or at least that is how it used to be.
Not sure if that is the case but that is what it seems like just by looking at the bracket.

There are several upsets in previous rounds and that team is sent on the road again. It just seems with a trip to the state tournament on the line the team that earned the higher seed should get to host.

Hmm... That is pretty odd. I looked in the LHSAA handbook but there was nothing clearly stating how the home/away situation worked.
Anyone else know?

Apparently the higher seeds are protected in 2A-5A and divisions I-IV, as the two out of three series are always at the highest seed, but if you still play only one game, best of luck to you.

In brackets that don't involve the best 2 of 3, they still use the old method of if you had a home game the previous round and your opponent did not, the opponent hosts. There's a little more to it, but that's the basics.
